£16,119 - £18,024 + 20% Shift allowance and weekend enhanced payment

You'll look after all aspects of animal welfare – from the upkeep and cleaning of equipment and exercise areas to the grooming, feeding and fitness of our animals. With supervision from Senior Instructors and veterinary colleagues, you'll also prepare any special dietary requirements, record our dog breeding programme, and maintain the general health of the dogs – updating all appropriate records. Previous experience in the care and handling of dogs is essential together with a high level of physical fitness. You must possess a current driving licence. This post is temporary for 12 months.

Prior to interview a Highway code assessment is part of the selection process plus the successful applicant is required to sit and pass the police driving assessment after interview.

Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national free of restrictions. You should also have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three years immediately prior to application. In certain circumstances, it is possible for the minimum residency period for vetting to be waived. This can only be done where it is possible to make, or confirm, in the relevant jurisdictions with local Law Enforcement and National Security bodies, which are equivalent, and of a similar standard, to enquiries which would be made in the UK, on both the applicant and all family members and associates. In cases where it is not possible to makes the equivalent checks, the residency criterion will be stringently enforced.
